we try hard not to spend money on stuff that we can build ourselves. it’d be easier to rent a bar, but how much fun is it to build one? and isn’t there a saying that every man should plant a tree, make a child and build a bar? or something like that.

…to berlin! there’s a lot of chit-chatting going on on the social networks we’re hooked up with, and the bottom-line is: people get excited about coming to berlin. The pre-event in copenhagen begins within the next few hours, and they expect up to 150 people joining the bike-ride from the little mermaid to the ex-airport.

actually, the former airport is located almost in the center of berlin. no need to worry about long, lonely ride though the outskirts of berlin.

these days, the t-shirts get printed (by the best volunteers, in berlin),
final negotiations with sponsors, finalising the beer-deal.
nina and aline are busy acquiring even more volunteers,
to make sure everything will run as smooth as possible.
stefan and bregan are one the phone non-stop, elena and
astrid do a lot of coordination,
planning and more stuff.
gareth and till conspire to present the best races ever to you,
azkic scouts the nicest locations to sleep (in case you plan to sleep)
roman, marc and michi already emptied and cleaned their kitchens,

there are still some lose ends, but hey! it’s still two weeks.

the spanish cycle messenger championships will be held in madrid.
beginning on 15th may at the universidad autonoma de madrid. noon.

Tibor aus Hamburg plant während der ECMC einige Workshops (not a german word). Es soll um so wichtige Dinge gehen wie Krankenversicherungen, Arbeitsbedingungen für Fahrradkuriere und um Finanzielles. Um besser planen zu können, bittet euch Tibor (und wir auch) darum, den Fragebogen auszufüllen und an Tibor (redreiruk[at]freemail.hu) zurückzuschicken.
Wann und wo die Workshops (again!) stattfinden, steht noch nicht fest.
Now to something serious. Tibor from Hamburg organizes several workshops. Topics will be Health-Insurance, Work-Conditions, Financial Issues. He plans to bring experts as well. To help him prepare these workshops he (and we) ask you to fill you the questionnaire (.pdf) (german | english). This should even be possible on your screen.

Dates, Times and Locations t.b.a.
the early check-in (probably already from tuesday, 26th june) will be at a really nice place. a roof in mitte, with a fantastic view all over berlin. the plan is to have beer and other drinks there, a bbq and heaps of friendly and nice people. just another reason to come to berlin as early as possible.
you can sip a cold one, pick up your starter-package and then cruise up to tempelhof airport on saturday for the races. but make sure not to miss out on the kick-off-party on friday night!
